Roosevelt Rev.'s Story

With the exception of the time I spent in the United States Army during the Vietnam era, I have been associated with "people management" in which I have mastered the technique of management. I am a Conference leader of the North Central New York Conference of the United Methodist Church, Pastor of two United Methodist churches, Community Activist, and a military leader. Born in Miami, Florida, I was reared in Tuskegee, Alabama and graduated from William Spencer High School of Columbus, Georgia. After my military service I moved to Brooklyn and later established residence in Syracuse, New York. I am a published author, poet, pastor, and a writer of children's awareness literature, I am the author of "A Minority View of How to Campaign for Political Office," a guide for candidates who wish to win a position in government, "Welcome to Our Child's World," a selection of children's poetry, and a host of poems and prose...Expand for more
s. Active in the community, I am a past State director of my local Jaycees chapter, a Prince Hall Freemason, a past district chairman for L.E.O. Clubs of Lions International, an active member of Kappa Alpha Psi, Fraternity, Inc., advisor for the 4-H Club, past president of McKinley-Brighton P.T.O., member of Department of Aging, Eastwood Neighborhood Association;Youth Advisor , past member of the Syracuse Superintendent's Parent Advisory Council , Syracuse Mayor's Clergy Taskforce, and Tuskegee University National Center for Bioethics in Research and Health Care. I am the recipient of the following awards: Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Naacp's Award for Community Services, United States Jaycees (Art of Oral Communication), The William Brownfield Memorial Award; The United States Presidential Award for Outstanding Community Achievement of a Vietnam Era Veteran; and Dr. King's Drum Major Award for Religion & Community.
